Knowledge network is the basis for acceleration in new ventures

These days, lots of attention goes out to start-ups. They are challenging the status quo in lots of different industries by providing new products and services or providing them in new ways.

Ye Dai et al. have done a huge research project to figure out what could determine the success of these new ventures. Venture’s success has previously been connected to Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO). In this research, EO has been positively connected to transactive memory system (TMS) of the venture. A TMS is about specialization, credibility and coordination of knowledge in a group of people. In fact it is the collective knowledge network of the organization.

So if you want to be successful with your venture, make sure you build and maintain a vibrant knowledge network.

For that matter, I suppose this is valid for all teams, not just in start-ups. What are your thoughts about that? Please share them in the comments below.
