20 Oct Knowledge network is the basis for acceleration in new ventures
These days, a lot of attention goes out to start-ups. They are challenging the status quo in many different industries by providing new products and services or by providing them in new ways.
Ye Dai et al. have done a large research project to figure out what could determine the success of these new ventures. Success has previously been connected to Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO). But in this research, EO has been positively connected to the transactive memory system (TMS) of the venture. A TMS is about specialisation, credibility, and coordination of knowledge in a group of people. In fact, it can also be referred to as the collective knowledge network of the organisation.
So if you want to be successful with your venture, make sure you build and maintain a vibrant knowledge network.
For that matter, I am convinced this is valid for all teams, not just in start-ups. What are your thoughts on this topic? Please share them in the comments below.
